I am a black wolf (and other things I learned today).
I don't want to be "that person." You know, the kind of person that says things like, "oh, I had a feeling you were a Pisces when I met you because xyz, etc." But I am!!! I'm going to go ahead and blame that on living on the West Coast. We're all a lot more mystical and magical out here.
Furthermore, I'm willing to try out any sort of personality profile test on the interwebz...even the ones that probably somehow give my data to international hackers! So naturally I was really excited to stumble upon Dōbutsu uranai (動物占い in Japanese), loosely translated as "animal fortune." It was super hot in Japan in the early aughts, but it's all new to me. Each person is designated an animal and a color based on their birthdate. Sixty distinct combinations exist. There are four categories of animals, shown in the chart below. The two axes (anyone else getting algebra vibes?) are self-centered vs. mindful and focused vs. easily distracted. There are four groups of animals: Earth, Sun, Full Moon, and New Moon.
I found out that I am a black wolf. I won't bore you with all of the specifics, but strangely (or perhaps, MAGICALLY), it was a pretty accurate description of me. What really sealed it for me? "For some reason, Wolves love to drive." UM WHAT WAIT?! Despite my lack of car ownership, I love driving and I will look for any opportunity to do it. Ergo, DOBUTSU URANAI IS REAL.
